Produced by: Laura Gutman

Genre: Documentary

Running time: 90 minutes

Synopsis: Why is it so hard to defend the building heritage in Montevideo?
How is it possible that a city that was the capital of one of the richest countries in the world from the late XIX century to the first decades of the XX century, is now, and has been for a long time, detached from the incredible material legacy of that historical period?
It is vital for both the present and the future to bring the perspective of civil society, artists and cultural creatives to bear on heritage protection and its implications for the lives of all.
Because in the end, heritage is just that: a matter that refers to tomorrow, much more that to the past. This film is a dynamic investigation, the corollary of almost 20 years of Alfredo Ghierra's work on the city and heritage.
